As a mental health professional with experience working in a wide variety of practice settings, I offer training and individual consultation on a range of community concerns. Plus, I simply love supporting staff development and facilitating organizational growth!
Based on your agency needs, I have “ready to go” content, as well as the ability to create customized trainings to address specific community concerns. Past training topics have included sexual and gender identity development, best practices working with LGBT communities, transgender basics, supporting LGBT youth transitioning out of care, suicide prevention and intervention, addressing identity based trauma, among others. My trainings focus on community resilience in the face of intersecting identity-based oppressions, and offer participants specific strategies to be more effective allies and social justice advocates within their own agencies and communities.
In addition to LGBT cultural competency training, I have extensive experience in youth development, harm reduction, and substance use prevention, and can offer training in these areas to meet your organizational needs, upon request. Certified as a Supervisor in Field Instruction (SIFI), I am also able to provide clinical supervision to MSW students and LMSWs accruing clinical hours.
Organizations that I have trained include the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD), Mentor New York, NYC Parks and Recreation, Brooklyn Public Libraries, The IDEAL School, the NYC Interagency Coordinating Committee, the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, Partnership for After School Education (PASE), among others.
I have particular interest in ensuring that schools, after-school settings, and family service providers feel equipped to meet the needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and gender expansive youth, their families, and LGBT-identified caregivers, and offer flexible pricing to work with most agency budgets.
